This wire whale sculpture captures a breaching whale mid-leap, with two curved bodies crossing to form a natural archway. Visitors walk right underneath it, so we engineer the negative space and the arch height together. The woven steel skin reads as a solid whale from a distance and turns almost transparent up close, letting light and sky pass through the mesh.
